Investigators continue to look into a one-car crash that happened near New Auburn over the weekend.

Just after 4am Saturday, Barron County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the wreck on 1st Avenue, where they found the driver trapped in his vehicle after he apparently hit the Highway 53 overpass pillars then ended up  hitting some trees.

Emergency responders extricated the driver, 26-year old Maxwell Super, and he was flown by Life-Link to the hospital with serious injuries.

This was the second alcohol related crash in less than 24 hours, and Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald warns drivers not to drink and drive, and don’t let friends drive drunk.
